Retreats with Ronen Goddard

No retreat is scheduled right now. When the next one is set, the dates, the place, the price and the number of seats will be posted on this page. Nothing here is a countdown.

What is a residential retreat with Ronen Goddard?

It is a small group living and working together for days, away from the ordinary demands. I have run enough retreats to know what a residential retreat can do that nothing else can. You can’t get there in a day. I’ve done one-day workshops, and they have real value for introduction, for activation, for reconnection. The body needs time to stop performing. Most of us don’t know how much of our inner life is performance until there’s enough stillness to notice the difference.

What were past retreats like?

Small. Past retreats were capped at somewhere between five and ten people, held in North Carolina on a working farm and intentional community, with plant-based meals shared together. I led retreats for years at Shalom Mountain, in the Catskill Mountains, and the design I teach comes out of that work.

Before a recent retreat, each participant completed a questionnaire about what they were working with and where they were stuck. I read every one, and I designed the sessions after I knew who would be in the room.

How intense is it?

It is real work, and it asks something of you. We work through breath, movement, sound, stillness. Through rage, tears, silence, laughter. Through the sacred intelligence of the body when it’s finally allowed to speak.

Real growth is messy. Nonlinear. It stutters, spirals, breaks open, and finds breath again. What opens during a retreat will still be in process when you drive home. This is not a one-time process, and no single weekend retreat will free up your energy blocks. A retreat is one strong beginning inside a longer practice.

You don’t need to be ready. You don’t need to be whole. You don’t need to know how.

Who is it not for?

This is not therapy, and it is not a clinical service. If you are in acute crisis or need care for a medical or mental health condition, please see a licensed clinician first.

How do I find out more?
