Working with Ronen has been an amazing experience! Ronen has such a great understanding of what I needed, right from the start. He's really skilled at intuiting how my body needs to move through blocks and discomforts, which has really helped me open up and discover what was previously blocked or unmaintained. Ronen knows how to guide you back home, and he's a master at seeing the underlying desires that you're searching for and bringing them to light. I highly recommend working with him - you won't be disappointed!

Incredible. There are a few times in my life that I am speechless, and this is one of them. Beyond grateful to be able to work with Ronen. He has helped me during my healing journey, and am truly wowed.

J.H., New York City

Dr Goddard was able to help me unblock the life force in me that was stuck. I felt stuck! Now I tingle with energy and hope and connection. I had lost my connection. I feel more like myself than I have in many years and it is wonderful!

WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT

Three practices that don't usually live in the same room

Unique Self Realization Most non-dual teachings stop at True Self — the recognition that separation is an illusion, that you are the One. That's real and important, but it's incomplete. Unique Self teaching, developed by Marc Gafni, takes the next step: the One is having a you experience. You are not separate from the whole, and you are irreducibly, specifically you. This retreat doesn't just teach that distinction — it creates the conditions for your body to discover it directly.

Recognition Practices Drawn from the Kashmir Shaivism tradition and the Recognition Sutras lineage, these practices work with a radical premise: awakening isn't something you achieve. It's something you recognize — something already happening that you've been overlooking. The practices are simple, direct, and body-based: noticing moments when your stories weaken, when sensation becomes more vivid than narrative, when awareness recognizes itself. No Sanskrit required.

Somatic Intelligence Core Energetics is a body-centered therapeutic modality that works with the connection between physical tension, emotional holding, and the patterns we build to protect ourselves. In this retreat, it serves as the ground: we don't just talk about false selves and true selves — we locate them in the body, feel where they live, and discover what happens when the body is given permission to release what it's been holding.

These three streams aren't offered as separate workshops. They're woven into a single practice field — 60% experiential and embodied practice, 25% relational work (dyads, witnessed speaking, small groups), and 15% teaching to orient the experience. Pedagogy exists to point. The real work happens in your body.

A word about "tantric": in the Kashmir Shaivism tradition that informs this retreat, tantric means that every dimension of experience — sensation, emotion, desire, thought — is a valid doorway to recognition. This is not the popularized "California Tantra" of Western imagination. This is a lineage of awakening through the body, not despite it.

IS THIS FOR YOU?

You'll know

This retreat is for people who are ready to practice, not just learn. You don't need background in any of the traditions mentioned above. You don't need to have done somatic work before, or to know what "non-dual" means. What matters is that something in the description above rang true — some version of that gap is mine, and I'm ready to close it.

You might be someone who's been in therapy for years and knows their patterns intimately, but still finds them running the show. You might be a meditator who's touched something deep on the cushion but can't bring it into your relationships. You might be a healer or practitioner who gives this kind of presence to others but hasn't received it yourself. You might be in a major life transition — a career change, a loss, a midlife reckoning — and you sense that what's needed isn't more figuring out, but more inhabiting.

What connects these people is a willingness to be in the body, to be witnessed in the vulnerable places, and to let something already known become something actually lived.

This retreat is not therapy or clinical treatment, and isn't suited for someone who prefers to observe rather than participate, or who needs wheelchair-accessible facilities (Spring Forest has uneven terrain and stairs).

THE ARC

Four Days. Five Movements.

The retreat doesn't march forward — it spirals. Each movement returns to the body with more depth, more permission, more recognition.

Thursday Evening — Arriving We gather. We orient. We begin to notice the lenses through which we've been looking — at ourselves and the world. The container forms and the body starts to settle into a different rhythm.

Friday — Mapping the Selves Where am I starting from? Through journaling, dyad work, somatic practice, and breathwork, we meet the parts of ourselves we've built to survive — not to exile them, but to see them clearly. We locate the "false core sentence," the deepest lie you've believed about yourself, and discover that even your defenses contain distorted light.

Saturday — The Crossing The essential turn. Through individual somatic explorations, recognition practices, and guided walks in the forest, you cross from the familiar self into something the traditions call True Self — the direct experience that separation was never real. Then the deeper move: True Self is true, but it's not the whole story. Something singular begins to emerge. You are not separate from the whole, and you are irreducibly you.

Sunday Morning — Living It From realization to responsibility. What is the specific gift you're here to give? What commitment emerges from what you've experienced? We prepare for re-entry: how will you live this when you go home?

Sunday Afternoon — Embodied Integration We close not with words but with the body. DanceWave at Living Arts Collective becomes the culminating ritual — a full-body integration of the journey. Awakening is not escape from the body. It is full inhabitation.

YOUR GUIDE

Ronen Goddard

PhD in Psychology · Certified Core Energetics Practitioner (Institute of Core Energetics) · Senior student and lineage holder with Marc Gafni since 2010 · Integral framework practitioner since the late 1990s · Three decades of tantric training in the Rudi-ji and Christopher Wallis lineages, rooted in Kashmir Shaivism

I came to this work because understanding wasn't enough — I needed to live it.

I've spent fifteen years immersed in Unique Self teaching as both practice and transmission. My tantra training spans three decades in lineages rooted in Kashmir Shaivism — traditions of awakening through the body, through sensation, through everything you already are.

I am not here to fix you. What I offer is accompaniment — presence that holds space while your own system remembers its rhythm. Sometimes I'm a mirror. Sometimes a midwife. Always a fellow pilgrim.

This retreat is offered through Integral Becoming.

QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked

  • Yes. Most participants won't arrive with background in these specific traditions. What matters is your willingness to practice — to be in your body, to be witnessed, and to engage the exercises. You don't need to study anything in advance.

  • No. In the Kashmir Shaivism tradition, "tantric" means that all experience — sensation, emotion, desire, thought — is a valid doorway to recognizing your true nature. The retreat works with the full range of embodied experience, not with sexuality specifically.

  • Breathwork, body-based recognition practices, individual somatic explorations ("map trips" — 25-30 minute guided journeys), journaling, dyad and small-group work, guided forest walks, and ecstatic dance as the closing ceremony. The balance is 60% embodied practice, 25% relational work, 15% teaching.

  • The somatic practices can bring up emotional material as the body releases held tension. You are always in control of your participation level. The container is held with therapeutic awareness by a facilitator with a PhD in Psychology and clinical training. Safety agreements include confidentiality, right to pass, consent-based touch protocols, and resourcing practices.

  • Spring Forest is a rural setting with uneven terrain, stairs, and natural paths. It is not wheelchair accessible. Contact us before applying if you have concerns.

  • Comfortable clothing for movement and sitting (layers recommended), a journal, any personal practice items, and weather-appropriate clothing for forest walks. Bedding and towels are provided. A packing list is sent upon registration.

  • 50% refund if cancelled 14+ days before. No refunds within 14 days. You may transfer your spot at any time.
